Amazon.com Review
A real time-saver, this 32-ounce Hot Pot boils water 60 percent faster than a microwave. The plain white exterior makes it equally at home in an office or dorm room, and the nonstick interior can be wiped out easily with a soapy sponge (the pot should never be immersed in water). Seven settings, from low to high, allow milk to gently warm or noodle soups to come to a full boil. A one-year warranty covers the pot against defects. --Ann Bieri

Product Description
Boil water, heat up soup or canned food, warm milk for cocoa, all faster than possible in a microwave. Easy to use, easy to clean, this Hot Pot is great for travelers, singles, dorms, offices, and work shops.

5 out of 5 stars Great little hot pot   August 27, 2010
WolfMama (Florida)
I dunno where all the reviews about leaking and stuff are coming from but I have one of these that I ordered from Target through Amazon. I have used the daylights out of this little pot in the year or so that I've had it,. It does NOT leak, and the water does NOT taste plasticy.

It heats water to boiling very fast. It's just the right size to put in my desk drawer and bring out to sit on my desk for tea water, or whatever.

It's great for quick soups, boiling eggs, noodles, pasta, and whatever. I've used it for a lot of different things. I've even used it to heat water for steaming my face, much better than a pan on the stove because the plastic doesn't burn you if you happen to bump it.

It's easy to clean. You don't have to scrub it to death.

Hey it even works great to boil water to pour down slow drains. And if you have an adapter for your car it's great for traveling and camping.

Over all I am very satisfied with this little pot, and I'm buying another one so I have two. Almost better than having an electric eye. Heh, I've even fried bacon in the bottom on the little plate while on a road trip. Made a whole meal with just this little pot. Boiled eggs in water, made grits and than fried bacon. No other pots and pans needed:) You probably couldn't do the bacon frying on a very large scale but for one it was enough.

The only drawback I see, is that it doesn't have an on/off switch, you have to unplug it to turn it off, othr than that it's an excellent low budget cooking tool that is a great idea for dorm rooms, hotel rooms and etc. You can even eat directly out of it in a pinch. I wish they made a slightly large version also.

Anyway, that's my .02 worth.

4 out of 5 stars Great price, good product   August 9, 2010

I bought a similar one 7 years ago for boiling eggs for breakfast. Now I got this one the same price as before, and works just as it should be, very happy

3 out of 5 stars great but janky   July 11, 2010

I and my roommate, use this more than any other kitchen item. It cooks spaghetti so fast, and you can strain it without a colander. However it does make a mess of water (I have to put a plate underneath it to catch this water) and I have often felt like it might electrocute me. IE its perfect for a poor students lifestyle.

4 out of 5 stars Love it   June 16, 2010

I just love this hot pot. It is what it is, and it does what it says it's supposed to. It's not fancy, but it heats water in a matter of minutes. The temperature knob doesn't have any markings on it, so I took a permanent marker and put a dot on the dial so I could see if the temperature was on low or high (low is left; high is right, and this is not rocket science.) That is the only thing I found confusing about this hot pot, but for the price, it is well worth having to mark the dial by hand. If it were a Cadillac, I'd have been disappointed, but it's a hot pot, so it was fine. The main thing is it heats water in a snap and also has a built-in thermostat, and it continually cycles to keep the water hot. I make perfect hot tea in it. The pot's interior does stain somewhat, but I am sure that tea would do that anyway. This staining is just another example of "it is an imperfect world in which we live," and I'm not all that surprised about that. Anybody who complains about the staining should research how to get the stains out, but I just don't really care because the stains don't mean it is not clean, per se. Another thing is you have to be careful when you open up the hot pot when it's full of hot liquid, but it can be done if you hold the handle with one hand to steady the pot and then sort of hold the lid down with the heel of your hand while you gently pry the lid off with your fingers. I really like this thing. It's terrific. If you can be "in love" with a hot pot, then call me crazy.

1 out of 5 stars Beware!   June 9, 2010

I bought this Hot Pot to use in school for ramen noodles and tea. After about a week, it developed a rust spot that kept getting bigger and bigger and the water was brown/rusty so I had to throw it away. I had to buy a new one. I bought the Proctor Silex K2070 and I'm very happy with it. The Rival Hot Pocket Express was a complete waste of money for me.
