Product Description The chef's knife is a kitchen staple, with a wide straight edged blade ideally suited to cutting and chopping fruits and vegetables, herbs, and so on. Some may find the 10" length too awkward and unwieldy, and for those people we recommend this slightly shorter knife. R. H. Forschner is a division of Swiss Army Brands, Inc, renowned for the Victorinox Swiss Army Knife. These knives are specially ground and tempered so that they can be resharpened over and over again, keeping a sharp edge throughout their lifetime. State of the art technology blended with old world craftsmanship produce cutting instruments of excellent quality, at reasonable prices. Forschner Victorinox Fibrox knives have earned high marks in a well-known cooking magazine which stringently tests kitchen products.

Slice and dice with the best knife November 18, 2008 N. Motipara This is the best knife we own. The handle is not cumbersome at all. The weight of the knife is perfect for cutting everything from cabbage to herbs to nuts and fruit. This a real keeper for years to come.
Swiss Made Excellence! November 17, 2008 Martin A Hogan (San Francisco, CA.) Swiss made, this knife by Forschner is the highest grade you can purchase. It's technically an 8" chef's knife and the stainless steel can be sharpened repeatedly, even though it holds it edge very well. The fibron handle has a strong grip and prevents slipping. The Swiss make great clocks, army knives and now this `series' of culinary knives that are `top-of-the-line'. It's so good there is a lifetime warranty. In fact this IS the company that makes Swiss Army Knives! I suggest buying a set if you are truly into good cooking. Voted #1 by "Culinary Magazine".
Good deal November 16, 2008 Chef Jack (Florida) I received this chef's knife about a month ago and have used it exclusively for all my carving, slicing and daily uses. It is very well balanced and the blade is thin enough to slice very thin sheets without dragging. It holds it's edge very well without constant use of a steel. I have not seen any rusting of the blade as some others have. I would highly recommend it without hesitation.
Killer Knife November 11, 2008 Thomas J. Gillen Although Im not a chef by any standards, this knife performs fantastically cutting up veggies, meats...pretty much anything. I often find myself deciding to make something just so I can use it.
LOVES it November 11, 2008 Ashley Head (Fort Lauderdale, FL) This is an AWESOME knife for the price. I've seen other knives that are twice as much but I think that you're paying more for the name and the difference in quality is negligible. I am not a professional chef but I do cook nightly and this knife holds up wonderfully. It is light in your hand and the handle is comfortable, allowing you to cut for longer periods without hand fatigue. It is very sharp and cuts through most things with relative ease. I don't notice any kind of water spotting or rust that I read in other reviews but I always hand wash it and dry it after I use it. With good care and regular sharpening, I think this knife will last me awhile.
