Product Description Why get a burr grinder? Burr plates uniformly grind whole coffee beans, protecting delicate oils and releasing more flavor. This grinder can handle everything from ultra fine espresso grind to extra coarse percolator grind. It holds a full 1/2 pound of beans and dispenses grounds into a removable hopper.
Amazon.com Review A stylish grinder for the serious coffee buff, this Cuisinart Supreme Grind automatic burr mill provides plenty of options and good results in an attractive and tidy structure. This makes it a great appliance for houses where coffee is a steady dietary staple and preferences vary from espresso to French drip. Outfitted with a heavy-duty motor, the machine has 18 grind settings ranging from fine to extra-coarse, which are controlled by a clearly marked, pleasantly clicking dial. Rotate the hopper to personal preference, and the machine does the rest, using burr plates for a highly uniform grind that protects bean oils and releases more flavor. Automatic operation in this grinder covers quantity as well--simply set the amount slide control anywhere from 4 to 18 cups. The grinder shuts off when the desired level is reached. Transfer of ready grounds to a coffee pot or espresso group is quick and tidy, because the grind chamber slides out with its clever lid in place. Smart and elegant, the grinder has brushed stainless steel housing and black accents in durable plastic. The hopper, hopper lid, grinding burr, and grind chamber all remove easily for cleanup, and a safety feature keeps the grinder from operating without the hopper and chamber in place. Standing 6-3/4 by 9-3/4 by 5 inches, the unit has built-in power cord storage at its base. Cuisinart includes a coffee scoop/cleaning brush in one and covers the machine with an 18-month warranty. --Emily Bedard

Great Grinder September 8, 2010 Billy G. Knott (Sparta, WA USA) Great entry level burr grinder. Others noted that the plastic reservoir has static cling and the need to use the brush to get ground coffee out. Small inconvenience. Noisy,as most grinders are, but very quick. Does not seem to create noticeable heat. A little big for the counter, but manageable. Highly recommended.
Static tip September 7, 2010 Chipy1kanoby (Jedi Temple, Galactic City, Coruscant) I want to begin by saying I drink a whole bunch of coffee, I'm a nerd and nerds like caffine. I'm on my second of these, I used my first one until I killed it, worked the poor thing to death. The adjustable grinds are nice but, I use a french press and rarely change the grind. It does have the static issue as with all grinders with plastic parts. To keep grounds from making a mess, I remove the hopper, cover the top and side hole, then slam it down on the gounter, works great.
Consistent grind September 6, 2010 Mary Great inexpensive grinder, I've only had it a month but love the grind, fine to brew comes out consistent.
Love the features, hate the unreliablity September 5, 2010 Steve McAlister (Waxahachie, TX United States) This is the second DBM8 I've owned. The first one lasted about three months, and this one just cratered today after three months as well. I don't grind that much coffee, about 5# per month, this grinder should have lasted MUCH longer. I really like the features, but I don't want to continue to replace it every few months, so I'll look for another brand.
super burr mill September 5, 2010 Gram1 (Onancock, VA USA) Having had several burr grinders before, this one wins hands down. My previous ones did not have lids so coffee dust and grounds were kind of messy. The various grind selections are also good. All in all price wise as well as the finished product are great.
