Good alternative to more expensive scooters for people with below the knee casts. November 1, 2008 Judith C. Knecht I purchased the rollator to be used in place of crutches. Never having used crutches, forbidden to place weight on my left foot, and being over 65, I was terrified of falling. The rollator, which I used both as a scooter with my left knee resting on the seat, and by propelling myself backward while seated, has worked out quite well. My only criticism is that the seat is not very well padded and I had to purchase knee pads from Lowes to prevent a blister on my knee. I do have a criticism of the distributor however. I did not receive the rollator on the final estimated day (10 business days after the order). It seemed pretty clear that had I not called, I might still be waiting. Once contacted, the Amazon representative did initiate a response and I got the rollator within two days. So be warned to order well in advance of needing this product.
Medline is an awful company that will not support its products October 28, 2008 Rachel Freudenburg (Somerville, MA United States) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I purchased the Super Light Rollator in Sept 08 from Life Style Medical through Amazon. Product finally arrived after a longer than expected wait. Assembly was painless and I was excited to see my 90-year-old grandmother use it on shopping trips. Unfortunately, about the second time she used it, one of the rear wheels inexplicably broke apart and little ball bearings went flying all over the place. Luckily, she was on a flat surface and nothing happened to her. Well, I thought this will be easy, I'll simply call Medline and have them ship me a replacement wheel. Since they drop-shipped the walker to me, my order and information should be in their database. Not so easy. The first rep I talked to seemed very concerned and told me that someone from quality control would get back to me right away. I heard nothing for 2 days, called back and this time was told to return the item to the seller. I tried to explain to them that it makes no sense for me to ship back the item across the country to CA to some internet store front who is not responding to my emails and doesn't carry spare parts. I got no sympathy from them. I called back maybe 2 weeks later and after putting up a fuss, was told once again that quality control would be in touch. I seriously doubt that I will ever hear from them. I cannot believe that a major manufacturer of walkers and wheelchairs wouldn't take this problem seriously and stubbornly refuses to replace a broken part. Under different circumstances, my grandmother could have sustained an injury for which Medline would have been liable. One would think that they would bend over backwards to address this issue but all I get from them is attitude. I am never buying an other product from them again.
GREAT WALKER FOR PRICE! October 10, 2008 Crd Commercial Funding Company (Cincinnati, Ohio) I AM IMPRESSED!!!! Ordered late Wednesday afternoon and received product by 9:00AM Friday morning, standard shipping. Purchased for by daughter (39 yrs old) who substained a spinal chord injury in 1989. We have owed, and wore out, four or five walkers. This is light, sturdy, attractive, not bulky, folds and adjusts easy, flows when moved and should fit in the trunk of the car nicely. The price of the walker was great. Same walker was on sale at Walgreen's this week $20.00 more. I don't think you can beat the quality or price. Almost tempted to order a second one just to keep as a reserve. I AM REALLY IMPRESSED. Also,my daughter is not very tall (4"11) and I was able to adjust it to her height. This was a concern when looking for a new walker. Assembly was very simple and required no tools.
Light, but too bulky September 22, 2008 mw (tulsa ok) The walker is lighter than other walkers, but it is too bulky when folded up. It is too difficult for an elderly person to get it in and out of the car.
