 Don't waste your money August 19, 2008

I have owned two of these exact models, one after the other, and both broke within weeks of purchase. This was not from abuse or even changing parts. I kept the same tip on and kept it at the same mid-level setting! Because I did not have time to go to a post office to mail the first one back, I bought another. I have dental pockets and they require constant attention.
The problem is that after a while the tip just starts to wobble and breaks off. I have gone through 4 tips. Also the handle where the tip is inserted just gives out and begins to leak water. I had the same problem with Water Pik years ago (I went through 3 machines then), but because I like the feeling of clean I get when they work properly, I decided to try the product again recently. I'm sorry I did.
It would be wonderful if someone could make a similar product that can be used with mouth wash. The only ones that I see that might not be prone to break, attach directly to the sink spigot. But you can't use mouth wash with those can you?

I purchased this Waterpik model last month after my old model had sprung a leak. I decided to buy this upgraded model & pay a few more dollars, and now that I have used it, it's well worth the extra dollars. I like that it has 10 different speeds. The unit is very compact. The lid holds the other pieces for storage. The hand unit has a much better holder when not in use on this one also. This is the first purchase that I have made on Amazon. It turned out very good.
