This liquid glycerine requires only a couple of drops to aid in rehydrating your skin....why pay more?

I have added this glycerine to body scrubs. It makes rough skin soft and smooth.

5 out of 5 stars Make your own skin lotion   November 14, 2008

I have dry skin, particularly in the winter time, and this product is great for creating an inexpensive and effective moisturizer.

My solution has 1 part vegetable glycerin to 2 parts distilled water, a dash of fragrance oil is optional. I just put it in a pump dispenser.
You can cover a large area with just a couple of pumps.

I have a separate pump of aloe gel as well, and sometimes I mix some together right before applying. Since there are no preservatives in this, I wouldn't recommend putting the aloe gel in the glycerin mixture itself.

5 out of 5 stars Took ages to arrive, but....   September 7, 2008

After a saleswoman with way too many lattes in her system stopped me at a mall kiosk and almost wrestled me into washing my hands with some salt exfoliant goo for a mere $35 a dollop, I began to think. Why not mix up a batch of this stuff myself. (It was a good product....but $35 for an ounce of sea salt goop?) I approached it like a high school experiment and thought Glycerine might be a good base so found this on Amazon. Long story short, after getting dead sea salt and a few other ingredients it produced an amazing concoction. Look for it on a 3 a.m. infomercial soon! Anyway, it took way too long for the glycerine to arrive but it is a good product.

5 out of 5 stars Very useful, versatile product   August 26, 2008

I've used this, mixed w/ about half water, as a skin moisturizer, great when you first get out of the shower, for years now. Found it also works well for the dry throat you get sleeping in winter or taking any sinus medicine. It has a slightly sweet taste and keeps the throat moist.

Found another use in finishing wood. I wanted a colorful paint "stain" and tried paint mixed w/ water, but it would dry so fast that it left lines on the wood. Found a mixture of 1 part each paint, water and glycerin was perfect, stays damp long enough to rub it in. Coat with a light poly and you have a unique finish that colorfully shows the wood grain and costs a fraction of pre-prepared stains. And totally customizable. Of course it only works with water based paints.
