Delicious - Not just "delicious, y'know... considering it's gluten-free" June 2, 2008 Justin Kaye (Solana Beach, CA USA) 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
I've tried a few products from Ener-G. While some of their products rank among other gluten-free substitutes on the market (you'll eat it, but it's clearly not as tasty as its wheat-based counterpart), their Brown English Muffins with Sweet Potato are actually delicious. I use them as English muffins, as burger buns, as sandwich bread, as garlic bread, as mini-pizza crusts--whatever. My girlfriend, who is not restricted by gluten intolerance, loves them as much as I do--which is testament that I haven't just lowered my standards due to how long it's been since I've eaten wheat-based English muffins. The only reason I didn't give them 5 stars is because I often find one or two muffins with mold on them. Mind you, this is only one or two in a package of 24, but I think Ener-G needs to address this problem.
Awesome! May 3, 2008 E. Tucker (Roseburg, OR) 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
These are fantastic, and have half the fat of the other Ener-G gluten-free English muffin variety. My son eats them with a little honey and cinnamon and they taste great. I think there must have just been a bad batch last year because none of mine were moldy at all.
Passable muffins February 9, 2008 Karen Burroughs 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
Not a great gluten free option. It is better than nothing but the taste isn't my favorite.
not-moldy muffins were good December 5, 2007 C. mcguire 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
My daughter loves these but 2 out of 6 packages were VERY moldy when they arrived (way before expiration date). I've read in my celiac yahoo group that this is not uncommon for ener-g products. Unfortunately, they have not been very responsive to complaints about this problem.
Were moldy when they arrived November 23, 2007 Jeanne Pagan (Atlanta, GA USA) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I was really disappointed when the Ener-G Sweet Potato English muffins arrived and three of the packages were moldy.
