Great wheat free/gluten free/yeast free choice September 30, 2008 harryfromhanover (Massachusetts) This product is a godsend if you are on a wheat free/gluten free/yeast free diet. Just like the directions say, you need to toast this to make it taste good. Also, stick with it. You will get used to the taste, and if you are on one of these restricted diets, it's well worth sticking to them to keep yourself healthy. We are on the Amazon automatic delivery which is extremely convenient, and is by far the least expensive way to purchase this often hard to find product.
Gluten free rice bread April 20, 2008 R. Strong (Northeast OH) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
This bread tasted horrible. No one in my family would touch it. I ended up just throwing it all out.
Not the same as regular bread, but far better than nothing March 28, 2008 Don Chin (Northern CA) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
This is the only yeast-free and gluten-free bread I have found. It can't really be compared to regular bread, but that being said, it is not too bad when it is toasted. You have to turn the toaster up pretty high to get it to brown, but it makes decent toast and toasted sandwiches. I have come to actually like this bread after complaining about it initially. And I feel so much better from avoiding gluten that I know I will have no problem eating this bread from now on. I like the Brown Rice Loaf better than the White Rice. And there's a bonus, the bread is vacuum-sealed and can sit on the shelf for months (You'll need to refrigerate it after opening). If you are desperate for bread that has no yeast or gluten, I would recommend you try this. If you can have yeast, there are better breads out there (such as Pamela's Wheat-Free Bread Mix).
No, it's not like wheat bread... March 5, 2008 eskualdun (Sparks, NV, USA) 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
... but it is a 'safe' product for people who allergic to wheat, gluten, yeast, and/or eggs. My child is one of them. You can't expect a product without wheat, gluten, yeast or eggs to be anything like a product that contains them. It would be like expecting a chocolate cream pie to taste like a lemon meringue pie- it's not gonna happen. What this is is a healthy grain source and a means of holding your sandwich together. It actually makes surprisingly good toast... with butter and jam- great.
Terrible February 16, 2008 Forest (Tennessee) 1 out of 2 found this review helpful
This is a waste. If there were nothing better, I'd just never eat a bread product again.
