Disgusting December 15, 2008 KayRivera (El Centro, CA United States) Only resembles Marshmallow cream / fluff slightly in appearance. Tastes gross. Almost flavored like sugar free pancake syrup, but disgusting.
It's not the real thing -- of course! -- but extremely good for what it is September 22, 2008 Amy (Nashville, TN) If something sounds too good to be true, it probably is. And cream cheese-ey fruit dips, or marshmallow "fluff" spread, cannot possibly be duplicated without calories. That is a fact of life. This marshmallow dip should not be compared to either of those foods, both of which are high in calories, sugar, and taste. This dip should be compared to all the other low-calorie sweets out there that don't have potential to derail a diet. And in that field, this dip definitely stands out, both in its taste and in the fact that it packs NO nutritional punch. For me, it's good for a sweet tooth kick during the dog days of a diet. It leaves a major aspartame after-taste, so if that's something you really hate, then don't get this. I personally don't mind. I think the seriousness of your diet -- and your sensitivity/repulsion to after-tastes from artificial sweeteners -- will determine whether this is a winner for you or not. It is obviously a big jar of chemicals. (Though I'm sure there are plenty of chemicals in other marshmallow dips, too.) For that reason, I wouldn't make this a daily part of my diet any more than I would any other purely artificial food. But it sure is great, again, for the dog days of a diet. I got my jar at Kroger, here in Tennessee. There were several Walden Farms items in the diet/health food area there.
The worst stuff ever October 22, 2007 K. Arnold 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
I am a sugar free, fat free, low calorie junkie! I have probably tried and loved many low calorie products in the market, which is why I was so excited for calorie free marshmellow dip. I had planned on making low calorie smores, rice krispy treats and a great sugar free hot chocolate. Well as soon as I opened the product the consistancy bothered me, it wasnt anywhere near gooey or marshmellow like. Then came the taste, it was like chemical plastic! I took one spoonful and immediatly felt like I wanted to be sick. The taste is horrible and the consistency is even worse! Skip this product until Walden farms can reformulate! (Their Fruit spreads and strawberry syrups are good though)
Chemical dip, anyone? August 13, 2007 Sarah Rodgers (Melbourne, FL USA) 1 out of 2 found this review helpful
I was very excited about this product (among others). The thought of being able to satisfy your sweet-tooth without fat/calories/carbs seemed too good to be true. Well, it was. This product tastes like chemicals. I tried it with different things, such as chocolate pudding or fruit, and nothing helped. I had to scrape it off because it was so disgusting. I'd stick with cool whip, only a couple more calories, but it tastes great! I do however, enjoy the other Walden Farms products (caramel sauce, chocolate sauce, french onion dip). The honey bbq sauce is my favorite.
Sweet Fruit Dip June 27, 2007 Emily Littrell (Ypsilanti, MI, USA) Creamy and marshmallowy. Yummy on fruit like strawberries! It's very sweet. Better than the chocolate.
