simply KOESTLIG August 24, 2008 Gerhard J. Baumer (East Brunswick, NJ) Follow the simple directions on the package, it is so easy, the product has been around for 65 years. Very good for Schweine/Sauerbraten. Plus you save 25% over supermarket price. Leftover simply slice and brown out in frying pan and use for breakfast rather than home fries. Garry B.
Prompt Service! July 31, 2008 S. Phillips (USA) As with my Sauerbraten gravy mixes, I have a hard time finding my German dumplings. Since I ordered the pot roast mixes online I figured I may as well get my dumplings. These are definitely an acquired taste, but oh so yummy! I've been eating these for years and if you are German you know what I mean when I say...AWESOME! My package arrived fast and sturdy. I'll order from these people again.
the best store bought dumplins ever April 3, 2008 John J. Farran (Oxford, New York) I had real home made German Kaduffleglaz 40 years ago with sourbautten these are as close to them. I can eat a whole box myself. I am a chef and added fine chopped onion to the mix
Convenient, but disgusting October 7, 2007 Jinxaire (Phoenix, AZ) 0 out of 5 found this review helpful
These were quick and easy to make. However, eating them is a different story - this might take me a while. I chose to cook them in a bit of bouillon, but they still came out repulsive. They're gluey, sticky balls of dread. They taste a bit like wallpaper paste with a faint hint of boxed mashed potato flakes... but mainly it's wallpaper paste. The texture reminds me of baby food, warm and solidified into nasty paste balls. I wouldn't put these in a food box for the needy... they're nearly inedible. Blegh! :( Where'd my matzo ball soup mix go??? How I miss that comparatively divine soup mix...
Same great product, better price. September 20, 2007 Peter P. (Washington) This product is becoming hard to find in local stores here in the Seattle area. I love the fact that I found it on Amazon, and for a price that beats all others, hands down. If you enjoy Potato Dumplings from Germany, these are the ones to get. Hint: Drop a beef bouillon cube in water where you cook the dumplings. It adds a discreet, yet delicious flavor to them.
