Fair, but nothing special November 20, 2008 M. J. Walters (Chicago, IL USA) I wish I could report that these rice dishes were delicious and well worth the money, but I can't. I found them unmemorable save for the fact that the seasoning was uneven enough to be noticeable. There was either too much of a single seasoning or not enough of any flavor. They were fine as a side dish, but really uninspiring over-all. The rice pudding wasn't the soul-satisfying dish it should be.
Not too impressed August 7, 2008 J. Ruhl Frank (Cary, NC) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
So far I have only tried the rice pudding, but it was so terrible that I haven't had any ambition to try the other flavors. The rice pudding was sickly sweet, and had a syrupy consistency to it. Definitely would nor recommend that flavor, but hopefully the others are better!
cook much less June 23, 2008 A. Zacchi (European in Texas, USA) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I followed the instruction for cooking (20 minutes) and it was WAYYY overcooked. For the next package I reduced the time to less than 15 minutes but still it came out a smudgy thing. Third trial: 10 minutes cooking and 2 cups of water, instead of 2 1/2 cups. Finally the rice was harder, more al dente. The only eatable one up to now. Very spiced. You should expect that from Creole rice, but usually risotto with porcini should be more delicate. Once you find the right way of cooking it it is probably not bad. I love the package thought: usable, color, graphic, shape.
