5 out of 5 stars Teas tea rocks   August 23, 2010
Kathy Thiel (western massachusetts)
We love Teas tea and they are expensive around here, when they are available. Wonderful to have them shipped to our doorstep. So far they are the only tea I have found available that is not sweetened and tastes just like tea, no weird after-taste or funny flavoring. DELICIOUS. Thank you for offering this tasty tea!!!

5 out of 5 stars Refreshing and healthy   August 6, 2010
madeline macgregor (Albany, OR)
I love this product. It's so subtle, that at first I didn't recognize any flavor. I think the American palette is so used to sweetener in everything, that it is harder to discern what foods or beverages taste like in their natural state. However, once I sipped slowly, Ito En's delicate and light quality was bliss for my taste-buds.

It just feels good to know you aren't ingesting sugar, in any of its unhealthy forms, either through high fructose corn syrup, GMO sugar beets, or even fruit juice sweetened drinks that are high on the glycemic index.

This tea is what it says on the label: tea! Yum.

I even went ahead and placed a case on a monthly auto-order to save on shipping and price. My only regret is that I can only buy enough to have a bottle every-other day. I may go through withdrawal symptoms on those days when I can't drink my Ito En!!!!

5 out of 5 stars Plain Iced Green Tea!   July 17, 2010

If you want unadulterated iced green tea, this is it! I don't like citrus added or any flavored iced tea, so this is one of the best plain iced green teas available. I hope Amazon starts to stock the more robust variation of this brand (dark green label) and the one liter bottles too.

5 out of 5 stars Great Japanese Product   June 26, 2010

The just right quantity of Japanese Green tea to be able to either drink at one sitting or save for later.
It tastes great because it is not sweet.

5 out of 5 stars Just Like Japan's Oi Ocha!   May 11, 2010

I lived in Japan for two years as a Nova English teacher and I quickly fell in love with the wide variety of cold teas available in Japan. Oi Ocha became one of my favorites due to the light flavor. It's bitter with a slightly grassy flavor but doesn't overwhelm like the stronger, darker green teas do. Just to explicitly confirm this: this tastes exactly like the Oi Ocha you'd find in Japan.

Why order this tea from Amazon? If you've never experienced real green tea, you need to give it a try. If you buy green tea bags, it's not the same. If you buy powdered green tea, it's not even close! Oi Ocha is brewed with whole tea leaves. It's light, refreshing, and healthy. I'm so happy this is available easily and at a low cost here.

Basically, if you want green tea the way it's meant to be drank - without "honey" or sugary flavors, without high fructose corn syrup, without ANY kind of added flavor - then you owe yourself, your health, and your palette real Oi Ocha!
