5 out of 5 stars As Good as A Restaurant   September 18, 2008

I have tried many Indian curry recipes in hopes of finding one that would taste as good as when I eat at an Indian restaurant, but they have all fallen short. On a whim I tried this Butter Chicken Curry (I usually stay away from packaged foods)and couldn't believe how amazing it tasted--the perfect spiciness with fantastic flavor. Also, there are no preservatives or crazy chemicals added to this product. I am so excited to find such a great tasting curry; I can now have great Indian food that is so easy and quick. I can't wait to try all of the different 'Kitchens of India' flavors!

I didn't know whether to believe others who rated the Butter Chicken, but BELIEVE THE HYPE - it's good stuff! Very delicious, I made this for my boyfriend's family and they loved it!

5 out of 5 stars Very close to the real thing   July 3, 2008

First let me start of that i am an indian residing in the US. I miss authentic indian food and dont get to eat good indian food in the restaraunts in my city.
These are very vlose to the real thing and taste just yummy. For people who dont eat too much spice the butter chicken wood be an excellent choice. Now i do cook the real butter chicken(not the best cook) i think this tastes better and is very easy to prepare. I didnt have to add any additional ingredients and the chicken came out great. Even entertained a few american guests and they were all over it !

4 out of 5 stars Makes a very good chicken makhani (butter chicken)   July 3, 2008

Butter chicken is one of my favorite Indian dishes. This little spice pouch greatly exceeded my expectations by making it easy to make a very flavorful rendition of it using only one pot.

1 cup of water, 3 tablespoons butter (I used Smart Balance and it came out great), a pound of chicken (the bagged frozen Tyson grilled chicken strips work great) and 20 minutes and you have a dish that closely approximates the restaurant version. I added some slices of Vidalia onion at the very end so they'd stay crunchy.

Great product, great value. [...]

When you love Indian food, but don't have the time to cook it, Kitchens of India is a really great alternative. I have yet to be disappointed in one of their dishes and this one is no exception.
