So healthy! July 25, 2008 Soapy (PA) I had a Kashi frozen dinner once (I don't like them because I don't like red or green peppers...picky) and loved the pilaf and searched everywhere for it. I could only find it at the health food store and for more than $5 a box!! I'm so glad Amazon sells it. Make this with chicken broth and serve it with dinner instead of Rice-a-Roni! Or make it with water, put milk and honey on top and serve it for breakfast! My 10 year old son loves it too.
Healthy ...but tasty July 19, 2008 Dba Living Artists (Orlando, FL United States) I bought this product to put more fiber in my teen children. I could have eaten it the way it is - but to make it more attractive to my girls I added a couple of things. I add tons of chopped onions and some Jasmine rice for sweetness. I think it is a great product for the price.
7 grain pilaf July 18, 2008 Horsey One (New Orleans, LA USA) Was looking for something rather easy to fix, and still meet the nutritional requirements and eat healthier. This fit the bill. We live on 17 acres, and the works is never done, this is easy to prepare in advance, so after a long hard day you don't have to start from scratch.
so healthy! June 7, 2008 M. Brubaker (Lancaster, PA United States) This is so good for you, but I can't say I loved the taste at first. Then I made "rice" pudding the other day, substituting the kashi for rice, and I loved it! (I substituted the sugar with splenda as well.) Now I feel great about enjoying something both tasty and healthy. And it really satisfies my appetite and fills me up for a long time.
Whole Grain Pilaf May 4, 2008 Dr. Donna S. Husch (Knoxville, TN) My husband and I do not like or eat plain white rice and we tried this as an alternative to brown rice. We truly like it's taste, consistency, and appearance. I have substituted it for regular rice in several recipes, and we like it.
