Very Sweet and a great deal! September 17, 2008 K. Duvall (Oregon) I checked with Sun Maid before buying these about allergens. The dates are not packed in a plant with any tree or peanuts. These are super sweet and very convenient being chopped already, My first batch of cookies using them is cooking now! Amazon has a super price on these too. I was going to buy a bag locally to try first, but my markets sell them for almost $4 per bag! Now I can have Amazon send them to me as often as I need them for an unbeatable price!
dates are yummy July 23, 2008 Nathan A. Burcl (vermilion ohio) 1 out of 4 found this review helpful
sunmaid dates are very yummy, i like them better than sunmaid dates. this is a good deal, you should buy some dates. they will make you poop.
sun maid chopped dates, 8-ounce bags (pack of 8) June 19, 2008 joan Very nice product. I mix it with walnuts, almonds, raisins (& whatever else) for snack mixes. It is also very nice for baking.
better than other brands of dates October 2, 2007 M. Felton (Washington DC) These chopped dates are somewhat larger than the "Dole" brand ones in our local grocery stores. They taste better and seem fresher.

I have a family favorite fruit cookie recipe that I only used to make during Thanksgiving and Christmas. I use only the best ingredients and the Sun Maid dates are the ultimate. I can purchase them in local supermarkets a little cheaper but cannot always find them (some stores only carry them seasonal). The family and friends now want cookies whenever I choose to make them (the 200-225 cookie yield lasts about two weeks); about a three day process between cutting up fruit and chopping nuts, mixing, refrigerating dough, and baking. But the results are priceless. No, sorry but the recipe is not for sale.
