Bought this for the dogs as something different and it turned out to be a really versatile mixture
Most flavorful rice ever! May 17, 2007 Radical Reformer 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
If you enjoy a nutty rice, this is the best ever. It is a bonus that it is so healthful. It even smells delicious cooking! I am diabetic and the net carb count is another plus!
A little pricey, but good April 22, 2007 Truth Crusader (Tennessee, United States) During one of my "We've got to eat healthier" phases, I found this product. My family hates these phases because of the changes that take place. We've begun to eat healthier over the years, but brown rice is one thing I can't get them to eat. My son HATES brown rice, and anything he thinks might be healthy for that matter. Anyway, I decided to try it in spite of the complaints I knew I'd hear. I like brown rice and it sounded interesting. I used it in a recipe that normally called for white rice and it turned out great, EVEN my son liked it. It does take a little while to cook and it is a little pricey, but it tastes good and it's good for you.
A Better Way January 18, 2007 C. Thomas (Mt Pleasant, SC United States) 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
In the past, I have avoided brown rice, although I knew it was much better than white rice from a healthy eating standpoint, because I just couldn't get into the taste and texture. While this blend does not have a significantly different texture, the taste and aroma are wonderful. Rice is a large part of the Southern diet and this blend takes dishes to a new level. Following the cooking directions will yield a perfect product, not gummy, but very satisfying, especially for a meatless diet or entree.
Too much crunch! January 9, 2007 Rae E. Fowler (Utah) Flavor was good but didn't care for the texture. One grain was thoroughly cooked while another was too crunchy.
