Good Stuff August 18, 2008 healthybabe This is a great product! Nutiva is the brand I prefer and Amazon offers a great price. I love to put this in my Nutiva Hemp Shake and cook with it. Coconut oil has so many great health properties! I even use it as lotion and make brown sugar body scrub with it. It soaks right into the skin and leaves it so soft.
OMG............!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! August 13, 2008 Kimberly Shahan (Grafton, WV) I love this product...my skin feels like a baby's butt!! Not sure why that is even a phrase, but what ever the case...it is REALLY....REALLY.............smooth!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I think it is a miracle wrinkle product..I put alot around my eyes at night. WONDERFUL!! The smell is very light. I hate coconut...to eat, but I can do this product. Thank you!!!!!!!!!!!! Never stop producing it!
Buy With Confidence August 13, 2008 Tidewatergal (Virginia) This was my second time purchasing the Nutiva Coconut oil and I was once again totally pleased. It is a good value also. It arrived totally liquid because of the summer heat. I placed the jars in the fridge and they solidified easily and I returned them to the cabinet, where they have remained solid. I purchased this for use in smoothies (very tasty in a light way) but have begun to use it as a moisturizer on my face and neck. I think it is a keeper for my beauty regime! With doctors saying not to put on your skin anything that you would not put in your mouth---it is the perfect answer! Many wonderful uses of this product online, read up.
Transfering to glass jars July 24, 2008 crafty (USA) Very nice product. It can be hard to get out of the plastic jar. So... Buy in the summer (when it is liquid) and pour into glass jars. It is much too difficult to get out of the jar when it is solid.
Mmm...popcorn! July 23, 2008 Coogs (Great Mills, MD United States) If you're considering buying coconut oil, you probably already know about the health benefits over most other readily available oils. If not, the other reviewers here have covered pretty much everything. My two cents concerns a simple pleasure, which is the primary reason I bought this oil in the first place...popcorn. It used to be that movie theaters used coconut oil to make their popcorn, and wow was it delicious. Sometime during my childhood, coconut oil was unjustly villified. Movie theater popcorn went from divine to just pretty good, which is where it is now. If you want exceptionally good popcorn at home that might remind you of the good, old days, use this coconut oil in any oil-based popper, like the Whirley-Pop, also sold by Amazon. Drip some actual melted butter over the popcorn (not that creepy "butter flavoring" theaters use) and lightly salt. If I could only eat one snack for the rest of my life, this would be it.
