3 out of 5 stars Definitely Not As Good as Bossa Nova   November 19, 2008
lifeloyalsigmachi (Minneapolis, MN)
I do agree with some of the other reviews of this beverage. Acai juice with agave (to sweeten) is very nice in flavor, but since this brand adds the acerola juice, I think this definitely changes the flavor. It's not bad, and I agree that it tastes kind of medicine-like, but I would not buy it again. I love the Bossa Nova original acai flavor (purple). It is sweet, yet has the lowest sugar and calories of any of the acai juice beverages on the market. I would highly recommend the Bossa Nova brand!!!

1 out of 5 stars Thick, sugary Kool-aid   November 4, 2008

Tastes like a pulpy grape drink.
Has no significant qualities that I could rate as being good.

1 out of 5 stars Couldn't get past the taste!   October 24, 2008
A. Mcconnell (NorthWest PA)
I enjoy drinking coconut water and other natural juices that provide health benefits and I have been hearing a lot off good things about Acai so I really wanted to try this product. I tried several times but could not get past the, for lack of a better word, bitter taste. I even tried to get the benefits by adding this to other juices. The texture is thick and the pulp just seemed to settle in the bottom of the glass and did not mix well. The taste also overpowered any but the sweetest fruit juices. I now have a carton minus two that will be finding it's way into my trash. The inside carton of my shipment was open with one leaking container so maybe my juice wasn't exactly at its peak but I won't be trying it again.

5 out of 5 stars Very Good   October 21, 2008
voiceoverthewall.com (United States)
Acai is all the rage right. Its popularity is steadily growing and will soon hit fad-proportions.

That said, it is a very good beverage that I find myself craving. At first, the taste is ok. It is not revolting and does not make you gag, as some seem to imply. It is very much like a melted chocolate snoball in flavor. The colder you make it the better it tastes.

I drink it right after a workout. I find that this brand is the least expensive and most convenient as well. I would like to see the percentage of Acai vs Cherry juice on the label. It is not provided. It only says that it contains a "splash" of cherry.

I like it. I would call it an acquired taste that you can quickly acquire.

1 out of 5 stars Gagged me it was so incredibly revolting! BLECH   September 19, 2008
DAVERAT (USA)
I have had other Acai drinks so it's not the taste of Acai that I find revolting - just this stuff. it's thick, kinda gloppy and has a nasty vinegary aftertaste. I tried filtering it through a gold coffee filter to get rid of the sediments and that helped the texture but didn't do much to improve the taste. Ultimately, the only way I was able to drink this stuff and not waste it was to mix it with some apple juice or grape juice. The best way to explain the taste is to compare it to the juice you get when you press wine grapes. Wine grapes aren't very sweet and when you press them, you get a thick, sourish juice. That's similar to this crap. Maybe you could put some of this into a smoothie with a banana but I think you might be wasting a good banana. My best advice is to try this before you buy a whole case of it. maybe you'll like it and think I'm wrong. If you do, great! But if, like me, you find the product is simply ghastly, you'll have saved some money.
