5 out of 5 stars Great Product, Compliment on the First Wear   May 9, 2008
Kathleen A. Kinney
Ok, so I heard the hype surrounding this product and did not believe it - really thought people were crazy to pay that price for mascara - marketing wore me down and I'm so glad it did - I have long thin lashes that are blonde on the tips. I also am plagued by oily eyelids while the rest of my facial skin is dry - mascara, eye liner, even shadows tend to run, smudge, or migrate to other areas, it's a curse!

I had a gift card and decided to treat myself, OMG! What a treat - as soon as I opened the larger than most tube I had that new product excitement we product junkies get! The wand is nice and thick, product goes on easily, waterproof formula does not get clumpy or rock hard like other products - I was liking it! Then it happened, I put the mascara on in the morning, drove to work, walked in the office, took off my sunglasses and the first thing out of my co-worker's mouth "I never realized what great lashes you have?" I AM NOT MAKING THIS UP - I didn't even have the product on for a full two hours - I was hooked ... My lashes feel soft to the touch (of course you can feel the mascara but it's not stiff like some brands, there's flexibility)and are nicely defined - I'm loving it! I just want to add that I don't use it on my lower lashes because my lower lashes are very short so I found Maybelline Lash Discovery works great with its small, short wand.

2 out of 5 stars Smudges!   April 8, 2008

This is supposedly Sephora's best selling mascara but I didn't find it to work all that well. It went on smoothly but didn't make my lashes especially full or long and I had black polka dots on my upper & lower lids within an hour of applying it. So disappointed! I will continue my quest for the perfect mascara!

3 out of 5 stars Not waterproof enough   March 31, 2008
Nanciejeanne (Western PA USA)
I bought this hoping it would be clump-free and waterproof. It did go on nicely (albeit with a super-fattie brush.) But I always had the racoon eyes thing by the end of the day. I try to rub it off under my eyes with my finger, pulling my skin...NOW it wants to be waterproof! I try to use it when I am only going out for a few hours and I don't want to pitch it because it was expensive. I have had better luck with the cheapo Maybelline and L'Oreal waterproof brands. (I really like the curling ones.) These brands do get clumpy after being opened for a few weeks. But for the low price of these, I would rather get a new tube...they say you should really only keep mascara for about a month anyway (I fugde this a little, myself though!) This just wasn't spectacular enough to spend the extra money on. Dior eye shadows and perfume's are different...definately worth it~

5 out of 5 stars Highly recommended   February 25, 2008

This mascara definitely does what they say it does. I have short thin lashes that are nearly non-existent, but with this mascara it adds great length and volume without clumping. For someone who doesn't use an eyelash curler, this mascara does a pretty good job of curling my stick straight lashes.

2 out of 5 stars Highly recommended, but disappointing   December 1, 2007

I tried the Dior Diorshow mascara on the strength of many recommendations. I bought the waterproof kind and that may have been my mistake. I'm curious to know if the non-waterproof kind is better.

I have several issues with the mascara. First off, the applicator brush is enormous. I feel silly saying that, but seriously, it's huge. I felt like I was trying to apply mascara with a Christmas tree. And after a month, the mascara is getting a really clumpy consistency. Again, maybe that's because it's the waterproof kind. I got a free sample of the regular Diorshow mascara that I'm going to try and see if that formula is better.
